Smart city framework for a 406 km² eco-tourism destination on the Gulf of Aqaba.

The Challenge

NEOM Magna required a smart city framework that enhanced a pristine 130km coastal environment without technological disruption to the natural landscape — spanning mountainous terrain, wadi fans, desert plains, and beaches. The master plan had to balance world-class tourist experience with environmental preservation across 406 km².

The Approach

Developed the integrated smart city framework across four domains: multi-modal visitor navigation, personalised experience and booking systems, IoT-enabled monitoring of utilities, waste, energy, and water, and environmental protection systems. Designed to minimise physical footprint while maximising operational intelligence. Aligned with NEOM Vision 2030 sustainability goals throughout.

The Outcome

Detailed master plan delivered for Saudi Arabia's flagship eco-tourism destination. Smart city framework established as the blueprint for sustainable coastal development in the Gulf region. Cited as a model for technology-enabled environmental preservation at national scale.
